$3 million boost for Marijuana Cannabis drug addiction research as Obama supports legalisation

It has been announced that the National Institute of Health is pledging a huge $3 million to help find Marijuana Cannabis drug addictiontreatments for those who suffer from Marijuana Cannabis addiction.  It is estimated that over 4 million Americans are addicted to the substance and as president Obama helps fight with more states to legalise marijuana across the board, the assistance for those who want to get over their addiction shows a greater understanding from the government.

The proposal for the grant outlines the concern to the public’s health, suggesting that this is an issue that demands attention.  Marijuana is a popular drug and users rely on it for a number of reasons, from Medical Marijuana For Pain Relief to treating health problems and because of this, it is becoming increasingly important to find a way to safely provide marijuana to the public.

A better understanding to help those who are addicted

The president was recorded in March to have stated that he believed marijuana to be no more dangerous than alcohol and has admitted to having used it himself in his younger years.  Since Obama came to power, the Department of Justice has pledged to not enforce any laws in specific States, and to instead allow the states themselves to decide what action they wish to take when it comes to the handling of marijuana use and sale.  So far, 23 states have allowed marijuana for medicinal use, whilst 4 states, and the District of Columbia have fully legalised marijuana for recreational use as well as for medicinal use and Medical Marijuana For Pain Relief.  This latest move toward the acceptance of marijuana amongst US citizens has removed bans on applications for research into the substance.

The proposal to plunge $3 million of taxpayer’s money into marijuana developments however hasn’t exactly proven a hit with the media though.  A waste of money, fraud and hypocrisy have been just some of accusations made by the media with flames of disgust being aimed directly at the federal government and it’s barres to prevent the public from being able to Buy Marijuana Online.  Even so, the government is striving to move forwards, insisting that as well as the benefits of marijuana, people need to accept that there are problems too and that it is possible to help tackle these problems with the right research and knowledge.
