Island Sweet Skunk, sometimes referred to as Sweet Island Skunk or ISS, is an old strain that is cultivated in Vancouver, Canada. In the USA, the strain is bred by Nirvana Seeds. Nirvana’s version of Island Sweet Skunk made the High Times Top 10 Canadian strains of all time in 2013. While this strain is now bred mainly by Nirvana Seeds, it was initially bred in Canada by Federation Seeds. This strain is heavily influenced by Skunk #1 as well as a 1970’s California Skunk called Sweet Skunk. A Vietnam veteran is said to have brought Sweet Skunk to Federation Seeds, where it was crossed with an unknown Sativa. Smelling and tasting like sweet citrus with a bit of skunk, Island Sweet Skunk is a strain that starts with a perky upbeat high, quickly followed by a soft body buzz. The THC levels of ISS are moderate, between 15-19%. It can be an effective medication for use in the daytime and it is an 80% Sativa dominant strain. It provides a noticeable uplift of cerebral energy that is euphoric but by no means overwhelming. Users will be happy and uplifted while still remaining peaceful and coherent.
