Moby Dick Strain
Moby Dick is a 75% Sativa dominant strain with enormous yields and moderately high THC counts. It is a highly psychoactive strain with the typical signs and effects, probably not the most appropriate strain for newcomers to marijuana. This strain has some of the highest recorded levels of tetrahydrocannabivarin (THCV) which give it a number of psychoactive effects not found in other varieties of marijuana. The effects are a strong cerebral head high which can often produce effects that are somewhat psychedelic, with an increase in auditory and visual perception. The strain is also known for heavily stimulating the appetite. Moby Dick is a cross of two wildly popular strains, Haze and White Widow, and comes from Dinafem Seeds. The strain has two phenotypes, a 12-foot Sativa monster and a smaller Indica dominant phenotype that is far rarer. Moby Dick won the ‘Girl of the Year’ award in 2010 by Cannabis Paper Soft Secrets and is said to have originated in Amsterdam. Moby Dick is a favorite among growers due to its high yield, resistance to mold and short outdoor flowering times. Still, it requires expert experience to grow successfully. Moby Dick is a bright green color with orange hairs and has a wonderful aroma of coffee and vanilla. The buds are big and dense, and the effects are long-lasting. It is a fantastic strain that all cannabis connoisseurs must try at least once, as it is a rare, specialized and wonderful strain. The THC content of Moby Dick is very high, between 20-24%.
Why do Patients Use Moby Dick?
Moby Dick is actually specifically designed as a medical strain of marijuana. However, it is suitable to the treatment of certain conditions only, namely depression, certain types of anxiety, fatigue and eating disorders. It is not useful for the treatment of insomnia and pain. Perfect for daytime use, it has proven very effective in the battle against depression and anxiety. Despite being a strong Sativa strain, there are none of the jitters that come with some Sativa strains, only a sense of calmness to accompany the mental euphoria.
